Tom scores a lid of GRASS in Greenwich Village!

(Late 1960s) 241 Bleecker Street, 2nd Fl., Greenwich Village, NY

In the late 1960s Thomas Pynchon and Henry Bloomstein (Candida Donadio’s lover) scored some grass at E.A.’s pad: 241 Bleecker Street, 2nd Fl., Greenwich Village.  Tom & Henry were only at E.A.s pad for about half an hour.  After Tom & Henry intruded into E.A.’s bedroom while he weighed the grass, Tom giggling, they then left.

Tom’s lid of grass: $25.  Henry: a pound of grass.

(told to me during a telephone conversation with Candida Donadio’s close friend E.A., February 16, 2016)

Of A Fond Ghoul

(1990) Blown Litter Press, NY. Correspondence between Thomas Pynchon and Corlies M. Smith, who was Pynchon’s editor when he was working on the manuscript of V., 1960-1962. Only 50 numbered copies, 40 pages, and by far the scarcest of Pynchon’s piracies. The letters involve the editing of the manuscript, possible titles, Seattle addresses, etc. A significant piece of Pynchon writing that has never been published before or since.
